Global Research in Paediatrics(GRiP) is a Network of Excellence which brings together researchers in Paediatric Pharmacology from all over the world.
The main objective of GRiP is developing research and knowledge in Paediatric Pharmacology. This area lacks common research methods and tools and by filling these gaps GRiP believes that it will contribute to a significant improvement of the health of children worldwide. The members of the GRiP Network recognise the different needs for developing paediatric research and the network has brought together people to work on those needs, particularly concentrating on the priority areas to make those changes soon.
GRiP is funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme [FP7/2007-2013, Grant Agreement n° 261060], it was inaugurated on 1 January 2011 and its work is expected to last until 31 December 2015.
GRiP members believe that, in order to improve the health of children globally, it is necessary to stimulate and facilitate the development and safe use of paediatric medicines.
To achieve this, GRiP aims to implement a comprehensive educational programme in paediatric pharmacology and to build an infrastructure which will allow the integrated use of existing research capacity and reduce the fragmentation and duplication of activities. Education and development of common research methods are therefore the pillars of GRiP’s activity.
The GRiP Blog is managed by members of GRiP and its purpose is to discuss the work of the network and other topics relevant to paediatric pharmacology, paediatric research and paediatric health in general. As well GRiP members, we hope that the GRiP Blog will be visited and used by any scientist, health professional, member of national and international organisations, member of patients’ organisation or individual who is interested in paediatric research and paediatric health.
The GRiP Blog will give evidence of the daily activities of GRiP and will host webinars and Q&A sessions. You can get in-depth information on GRiP, and subscribe to our newsletter, on the network’s webiste – www.grip-network.org. Follow the GRiP Blog to participate in an active discussion on Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology topics.
